Change is your middle name.

Note to Self: Change is your middle name.

When you were born you couldn’t walk, talk or read but you learned to do it.

When you were five you couldn’t write, draw or play checkers but you learned to do it.

When you were 7 you couldn’t ride a bike or climb a tree or use the phone but you learned to do it.

When you were ten you couldn’t speak a foreign language or play a sport or an instrument but you learned to do it.

When you were in your teens you couldn’t use a typewriter or drive a car or write a check...

When you were in your twenties you couldn’t rent an apartment or make a budget or make a sale...

When you were in your thirties you couldn’t program a website or manage an office or build a company...

When you were in January of a pandemic year you hadn’t heard of Zoom or made a presentation by video or taught four days to forty students from around the world remotely...

Today isn’t unprecedented.
Today isn’t unmanageable.
Today isn’t all that strange.

When you realize that Today is just like every other day in your life in which you learned - not that there’s something new or different or unforeseen to deal with - but that you can adapt to it quickly and with great skill and even enjoyment - you can proceed with confidence.

Tomorrow there will be something else.
You can be sure of it.
The good news is that by the time you encounter it,
it will be
Today.

And you’ll be able to learn to do it!
